The bear was held in the highest regard of all animals. You can see that he isn’t around in the winter. He is underground in his den. Why should he not be respected? He is able to survive in his den alone.
A nicely crafted rope was made. It was put on the bear after he was killed, and something else that was beautifully decorated with beading, in the style the women made while sewing, was placed on the bear’s chest to be worn when it was brought home.
